There’s a key concept I want you to know:
NEAT – Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis.
Basically, this is the activity you do outside of exercise. It’s thermogenic because it burns calories.
Walking more is the key to NEAT. The goal is to get 7000-10,000 steps per day, which is 3.5 miles to 5 miles per day.
We’ve designed our world around cars. We’re not healthy, we rely on medications and expensive health care to deal with the problems we’ve created through inactivity. Or, we go to the gym and try to make up for sitting all day.
NEAT is the missing link to health.
