I’ve been hearing a lot about peptides. Look at it this way. Your body is built from proteins. Proteins are made up of amino acids which combine to create peptides and then those combine to create proteins.

Amino acids (“aminos”) are the basic building blocks of proteins. When a small number of amino acids link together, they form a peptide. As more amino acids join into longer chains and fold into specific three-dimensional shapes, they become proteins.

In other words, amino acids → peptides → proteins.

Peptides are essentially short protein fragments, while proteins are larger, more complex molecules that perform most of the body’s structural and functional tasks, such as building muscle, transporting nutrients, and catalyzing chemical reactions.

As far as supplementing, taking supplements is never a replacement for good food. That being said, a protein supplement every day, or every other day, isn’t a bad idea. I recommend taking an organic whey protein, 20-40 grams, after a hard workout or as a snack in a smoothie. Also, collagen peptides supplements for skin has been shown to be beneficial.
